“Hard Road Home” available now

Listeners to “Building The Pod” will have heard me mention (on numerous occasions) my involvement with the recording, mixing and mastering of Dave Garner’s music.

Well, after a mere 3 years (Ye Gods… aren’t you glad you weren’t waiting on a heart transplant?), Dave’s new album “Hard Road Home” is available now.

You can check out some samples from the album at Dave’s MySpace page, and you can order a copy from Dave’s site and pay with complete confidence through PayPal.

Musically, the album is a little bit of Bruce Springsteen, John Hiatt, Steve Earle, Melissa Etheridge and Lucinda Williams… you kinda get the idea? Rock/country crossover.

Both Dave and I are very happy with the way this has turned out. For those interested in the technical side, the whole thing (live drums and all) was recorded in my house, straight into Adobe Audition (first in v1.5, later in v2.0). It was then mixed and mastered entirely in Audition v2.0 (with a few plugins for good measure!).

End of plug.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
