Bruce Williams

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

    Hiya Bruce,

Just grabbed ep 113 via iTunes and part way through you talking about the Canon compact hacks the podcast dies (stops playing). Not sure if it was a dodgy file or whatnot but the display indicated there was still 32 seconds to go and then it just went to 0 and you cut out.

Thanks for posting this Shelton-less interlude – I do really enjoy your professional sounding podcasts Bruce.

    Cheers

    Berk,
    Thanks for the heads up!
I’m currently uploading the mp3 file again.
Check back in 30 mins and it will be fixed.
    Cheers,
    Bruce.

    Hey Bruce,

I use the Russian hack you mention for getting raw images from my Canon PowerShot S2 IS. I then use another program to convert those raw files to the standard DNG format. It’s nice to be able to get raw images from my point and shoot. I just wish they would have made this feature available without the hack.

I was actually the one to alert Carolyn E. Wright to the issue with the FaceBook terms of service. I was quite pleased that she actually decided to blog about it. Then, after I posted a link to it on FaceBook, I ended up hearing you read that same blog post on my favorite photography podcast! That’s fantastic!

    Great show, Bruce.
