I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

Just listening to the podcast and I thought I would add some details on the umbrella shoot with Richard.
Glynn taped a flash into a black studio umbrella with a silver lining and then had Richard angle the umbrella so that the light was reflected back towards his face and hiding the silver lining from view.

My settings for the umbrella shots were ISO 400, f16, 1/100 which seemed to work quite well

Also a cheaper alternative to Pocket Wizards are the Alien Bees CyberSyncs. I use these and they fire every time. I had the ebay kind and soon after purchased these because they just didn’t work that well.
