This week, we answer some listener e-mail regarding dynamic range, lighting up water skiers, and getting out of a ‘photographic flat spot’.
Plus, Shelton goes into some more detail on how to shoot in the film noir genre.
Check out the wiki article for more info on film noir.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

Isn’t this the answer to the skier picture?

    1) Drive the boat away from the sun.

    2) Shoot skier with sunlight from behind, backlighted, and use a reflector (or two) in the boat to light the front of the skier from the cameras point of view.

    3) Shutter speed to taste to stop action. Aperture for DOF, and ISO for what the shutter/aperture require.

    Isn’t that the easiest way?
