Shutters Inc – episode 181

This week, Lee joins us to talk about just how important it is that you communicate clearly with your client prior to a shoot.
Make sure you know what they expect from the shoot.
Also, how to deal with it if things don’t go exactly to plan.
Also in this episode, I have a few promo codes to give away to iPad owners who are interested in trying out some of those fantastic ‘Photoshop scripts for iPad’ apps that Phillip Andrews was talking about a couple of episodes ago, and with the release of Google+, a timely reminder about just what rights you’re giving away when you post your images to any social networking site.

I’m joined by Lee Andrikopoulos from Instictive Desires.
Lee has a wealth of experience to share, concerning how photographers can be better BUSINESS people.
We all love taking great images, but without understanding the marketing side of things, our photographic services business can be a little disappointing.
Over the comming weeks and months, Lee will share some of the things he’s learned about how to get your business on par with your photography.

Shutters Inc – episode 179

Another year, another PMA trade show!
Over the weekend, I attended the PMA trade show in Sydney and spoke with some of the vendors who were in attendance.
This year, I made a point of trying to talk with some vendors who were not in the mainstream; the types of vendors who might have not received the same level of attention as the big, bright flashy stands of the industry’s major players.

And my image “Caloundra Blue” picked up a Bronze Award in the 2011 Epson International Photographic Pano Awards!

We’re hunting wabbits…

Sorry things have been so quiet around here of late… moving house is a big deal!
And truth be told, it’s an even bigger deal when you have an audio recording studio to dismantle as well!
Which brings me to today.
Cath, Max and I are now relocated to our new home just north of Sydney, and are loving it!
But reconstruction of my audio setup is going to take a little longer than I had originally anticipated.
All things being equal, I should have it plugged in, powered up and making some noise within 2-3 weeks.
And as soon as that happens, you can be sure that Shelton and I will be back on your <insert favorite brand of mp3 player here> in no time flat!
And for the first time in the 5 year history of Shutters Inc, Shelton sent ME an email last week asking when we were going to be recording next! It’s usually the other way round. :)
So, bear with me people. SI will be back just as soon as I can manage it.
Cheers.
Bruce.
