Episode 553 – A pair of size queens

This week, lots of news on the Bruce front.
Lessons learned from my first video shoot for the ABC,
a new house,
loving the Tamron 150-500mm lens big time,
and this cool tripod that I saw on youtube.

Last episode, Glynn asked about a pic of one of our journos sitting in front of one of the video backdrops I’d shot.
I’ll do ya one better…. a short video clip.

Glynn shared this story about Canon FINALLY opening up production of RF mount lenses to 3rd party manufacturers.
But it turns out not to be as open as one would have hoped.
Then there’s the CEO of Tamron Japan who seems to have overstepped the mark with regards to… well, “third party women” apparently.
And for anyone else heading to Alaska, who might also be looking for a photo tour, check out Glynn’s friend Lisa Langell and her Magic of Alaska tours.

Paul Sutton sent us a bunch of stories as well…
I for one welcome my AI overlords,
$300 for a days work as a pro Photographer,
World Cup of Cycling and Tour de France,
The oldest Pictures from NYC, and
First surviving photo from Chernobyl.

And with me off to Alaska, this will be the last podcast for 6 weeks at least, as Cath and I will be moving house 2 weeks after we get back.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
