Episode 560 – Bruce has GAS

This week, we talk about my new lens acquisition, the Tamron 150-500 (yes, the same lens I took to Alaska). Haven’t had a chance to use it in anger yet, but that will come.

I also bought myself the Yongnuo YN560ii flash trigger to replace my old Flashwave 3, which recently died.

I have recently shot new portraits of the on-air staff at ABC Newcastle.

And with the purchase of the 150-500, I’m debating the merits of keeping or selling my Sony 70-200/f4.

Phillip Johnson told us about Nikon going on a shopping spree.

Carl sent me a video (couldn’t retrieve the link, sorry) about Jared Polin goes ape at petapixel about sharing… something.

Glynn mentioned Ricoh and their GR highlight diffusion filters. Seems like greasy fingers will do the same job.
Then this story about an underwater door cam for fish!
And a link to a facebook video (if anyone has a non-FB link, please send it through!) about  a go in India (?) who goes around shooting street portraits on a 100 year old camera, and develops the print while you wait!

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
