Episode 545 – Go north, the rush is on

This week, we talk about my recent photoshoots with Miss.Raina.Hazel.
The images from both shoots get the zuckerbots a little hot under the digital-collar, so you’ll need to check them out on my wordpress blog. The boudoir shoot is here, and the fine art nude shoot is here.

Glynn (and Paul, and Phillip….) mentioned the closing down of Dpreview. I’ve put the petapixel link here, simply because the link to the article on the dpreview website will disappear when the site goes dark.

Then there was the story of the Apollo 11 astronauts discussing what settings to use to photograph the Earth from space.

Levi’s (of denim jeans fame) is now using AI-generated models for… diversity. Yeah, sure, Pinocchio! Diversity.

And this probably isn’t the first, and certainly won’t be the last… AI-only modelling agency. None of their models actually exist.

Or for another AI twist, try out Headshotpro, who for $29 (!) will take a couple of your own headshot images, strip out the background, re-render your head using AI technology, morph them into some really nice backgrounds, and generate 120 pro headshots for you!

Paul sent us the story on fstoppers about having more gear making you less creative. Yay? Nay?

The son who helped his dad recreate his old modelling photos from 40 years ago.

And why is it that our only photos from the surface of Venus are from the 80’s?

This episode’s feature image is borrowed from here.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.

Enjoy the trip to AK, September 06 visited Alaska travelled solo, planned around the Alaska Rail Goldstar service, it was worth it, that outdoor viewing platform is really cold & Alaska Marine Highway from Homer to Kodiak stayed for almost about 3 weeks. Flew into Fairbanks from Melbourne on a Friday 27 hour journey needed a weekend to recover,I would break up my journey these days. If you get time have a look at Creamers Field nature reserve & while I was there it was a short walk to a state fair, animals entertainment, rides ,food, locals rarely if ever see anyone from Oz.I liked my weekend there booked into a nice hotel over looking the Chena River.Anchorage weekend market is worth a look if you’re there.
