Shutters Inc – episode 205

This week, Carl Hemmings wrote back about the 51 (not 52!) focus points on the Nikon DSLR’s.

Last weekend’s Sydney meetup #25 (Hell on Wheels) was a great success. The thing that really struck me (which I shall file away for future reference) was the need to be really aware of placement when using flash to supplement an ‘apparent’ light source within the frame (in this case, a campfire).

And I’m keen to hear from those of you with 10-stop ND filters. Do you ever notice a colour shift in the final images? I am, and I don’t know if it’s a defective filter, a (not so) cheap-and-nasty filter, or if this is the way 10-stop filters are in general.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
