Episode 438 – Glynn’s “Brokeback Mountain” moment

This week, Glynn wants to know why this funky new filter holder wasn’t thought of sooner.
Canon announces the end-of-life for the 7D series.
Remember the monkey shots? Now, we’ve got Monk-y shots.
Or how about AI that can turn still images into video?
Panasonic’s S1 and S1R cameras can capture 6K video (I only mentioned 5K in the podcast…. it’s even higher res than I realised).
If you’ve got a screen with the resolution to play it back, here’s the first timelapse shot on Fujifilm’s GFX100.
And Sony has officially jumped ahead of Nikon in ILC sales worldwide.

Adam told us about Rotolight’s legal proceedings against alleged copyright theft,
the theft of some physical prints at Sydney’s Head On photo festival,
and the controversy surrounding Elon Musk’s deployment of the first 60 (of a proposed almost 12,000) micro satellites, which will form the backbone of a low-orbit global internet service. Photographers are concerned that the Starlink satellites will create a lot of light pollution which will adversely affect astrophotographers.
The link I found also had some video footage of the “satellite train” passing across the sky.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
