Episode 533 – Midjourney madness

This week, there’s talk that Panasonic might be getting out of the low-end camera business.

NYA-EVO is a company based in Belgium which aims to take discarded plastics from the oceans, and turn it into camera backpacks!

We’ve all heard about the James Webb Space Telescope, which recently took over from the Hubble Telescope. Well, the Giant Magellan Telescope, when it’s built, will have 7 primary sensors made of the largest mirrors in the world, and will be housed in a building 12 storeys high. On top of that, it promises 4 times the resolution of the JWST!

 Another image from Midjourney Glynn has been exploring the amazing potential of Midjourney.
If you haven’t seen what it can do, the adjacent pic, and this post’s banner pic, were generated by a computer algorithm based on nothing more than a few keywords! Probably not likely to replace professional product photographers just yet, but like any new technology, the future output will only get better.

    Thank you for your comments and gigglefest again this time around.

    Regarding the museums not being interested in the collection of Micheals extensive and valuable cameras.

    What my understanding of Museums is, unless it has real cultural significance to Australia, or the state, generally the museum wont be interested. Maybe if there was the first camera used in Australia, or something used specific, such as photograph the Atomic tests for example, and was a specific to that, then the museum would be interested in the cultural aspect of that specific specimen/ camera.

    Micheals from the sounds of things was a camera museum, and I am sad to see the collection broken up, and also sad I did not get to experience it. However for the best collection results, it would naturally be delivered to another camera museum, but the Australian museums are not them. It is always sad to see generations of work be broken up like that.

    Hope this explanation is understandable.
